I just discovered that bonobos are pretty interesting hominids.

Quote from: https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2022/06/bonobos-tolerant-peaceful-group-relationships-paved-way-for-human-peacemaking/Humans display a capacity for tolerance and cooperation among social groups that is rare in the animal kingdom, our long history of war and political strife notwithstanding. But how did we get that way?

Scientists believe bonobos might serve as an evolutionary model. The endangered primates share 99 percent of their DNA with humans and have a reputation for generally being peace-loving and sexually active — researchers jokingly refer to them "hippie apes." And interactions between their social groups are thought to be much less hostile than among their more violent cousins, the chimpanzees.

Originally it was this Wikipedia article that got me thinking it might have been nice to be a closer relative to bobobos.
Quote from: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bonobo••••According to studies published in 2017 by researchers at The George Washington University, bonobos, along with common chimpanzees, split from the human line about 8 million years ago; moreover, bonobos split from the common chimpanzee line about 2 million years ago.••••[8][9]

What if? Maybe we would already have evolved socialism.

Ya bonobos are interesting. They sort of use sex kind of like how chimps use grooming amongst each other.

Anyway, regarding cooperative behavior, native tribes were like that until more aggressive conquerer types got to them.

Meat

How do Bonobos deal with the homeless?
"Brilliant Meat!" +1 (composer)
"Amen Meat." (Former Believer)
"Like Meat said." (Francis)
"Not brilliant, Meat!" — Villanelle
"Damned right Meat." -Kusa
"You call this comment censorship Meatless?" (Boobs)

There do not seem to be homeless bonobos, except for the coming-of-age females who leave their troop for another community. They wander around until they find another troop and are warmly welcomed.
