Hiya folks been awhile...but I see the graphics are still hosed here. At least on all of my machines and browsers. Its really kinda irritating and one of the reasons (albeit a very small one) why I haven't been here lately.

So if you want to know what I mean, this is what I am seeing when I type this:

Also, what's up with the site's favicon?

Are you seeing the same on your end with the graphics issue?

Teaspoon Shallow

Nope, all of the icon are crystal clear.

I have no idea of the software required and have googled with no luck.  A software update may be required but no idea what software that is.

The odd thing is that it is all of my computers (3), all browsers, and even my iphone using the Verizon network...

And...clearing my browser data doesn't fix it...

I'm stumbled upon...something. If I copy a link to a graphic and open it in a separate tab, it will show up and then be cached.  Refreshing the IGI page will then have the one graphic that is cached.

I did this with a few and they all showed up.

So I cleared my cache and then they show up as broken again.

This is the only site I have this problem, not sure what it is.

Airyaman

More...open in a private window (incognito), graphics work...

Clearing my data should have fixed the issue if a private window allows the graphics to be shown.

Weird.

Mr. Blackwell

I wonder if it might have something to do with ad blocking software you might be running. I see what you are describing if/when I come here from a computer at work. It doesn't matter if I log in or not. It doesn't matter if I go incognito or not. Heck, the graphics are still broken if I log in or visit this website on my laptop using the company's Wi-Fi. But, everything looks fine on my laptop when I am at home or using McDonald's Wi-Fi.

The only thing that bugs me at the moment is for some reason I can't click any of the message icons or use any of the editing features unless I happen to know the code and just type it in manually.

Tried that as well. Turned off Adblock Plus, no difference.

Fyi, I use Opera but have tried in Chrome, Firefox, and Internet Exploder. Interestingly, using some of the "tricks" above in IE does not work. Private window, no graphics. Load a graphic to store in in cache, still no worky.

Incognito mode does not work with Chrome, but loading a particular graphic and then reloading a page works.

Ugh.

Mr. Blackwell

Curious.

Have you set your internet browsing to automatically delete your browsing history and cookies each time you close out your session? I know I have done that in the past so I don't use up too much memory. If you have it set up to automatically delete your cache files maybe try turning that feature off.

Nope. In fact, the most recent cleaning was the first I've done in months, maybe even a year or so.

Mr. Blackwell

I do think it has something to do with the way this particular sight is configured because when I am at work, WWGHA's graphics load just fine. Other forums also work just fine. So, I don't know. Maybe it has something to do with the operating system you are running or maybe it has something to do with how this web site is configured. Something ain't lining up right. But I have exhausted all my ideas.

Good luck and don't give up.

Airyaman

Yeah, its driving me nuts that I can't solve it.

All of my machines are Windows 7 except a new laptop with Windows 10. Never been to the site on it until just now, and both Opera and Microsoft Edge both show the same broken graphics. Gonna fire up my Linux partition on my other laptop now.

No go on Linux either.

Weird thing, 4 timed out hops between my computer and isgodimaginary.com when I do a tracert. Not sure if that has anything to do with it, but when you start grasping at straws...

Far out.  Frustrating.  Hope you find a solution.

@Mooby the Golden Sock  may have experience with this kind of thing?

Well, seems the only solution for the moment is to browse this site in private mode. It does not look to cache or store in cache, so that seems to be the trick for whatever reason.

My habit has always been to manually insert html, so the problem went unnoticed until now, but the code is definitely broken.

Are you browsing in http or https? I have had difficulty trying to fix the graphics in https and am not sure where the problem lies or how to fix it.

Odd, must default to https on all of my browsers. When I manually enter http instead, the graphics work!

Can't believe it was that simple.

Glad that worked.

Speaking of which, if anyone has any ideas of why these images aren't loading over https and how to fix it, that'd be awesome. I don't think it's due to mixed content though that's an issue as well. Ideally at some point we'll make https the default but that requires me to get it working...

Not sure what happened with the favicon, maybe an SMF patch or a mod replaced our old one, will have to check later.  Fixed.  Not sure how it got changed, but it's back to normal.
