Depends on if there is an open communion policy or not.
But everything changed when the Calgary Flames attacked.

I thought divorce from reality is a prerequisite.

Yea that's true. Nothing inherently wrong with the ceremony but when one believes the ingredients suddenly turn divine there seems to be a reality shift.
That's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Are you implying that only those who are "divorced from reality" receive Eucharist?
