Speaking of babies! (Well, my baby).  Today is Jessica's birthday!! yay.



There's the birthday girl from earlier today.  We're doing cake and stuff on Sunday.

Anyway, I haven't really answered all of Jezze's questions.

Mr. GG is doing well.  He's been sober now for 10 months.

Jessica is doing well too.  She was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome (WS) on October 1st though.  WS is caused by a random deletion of 26 genes from chromosome 7 during meiosis.  She only has one copy of the elastin gene and a few other genes.  This can lead to heart defects, kidney defects, hypercalcemia, developmental delays, mild mental retardation, elfin facial features, overly social personality, and a few other things.

Jessica, so far, suffers from hypercalcemia, developmental delays, and a heart defect.  Her heart defect is super mild though! It's mild enough that she has a normal EKG.  (She's got pulmonary artery stenosis, so it might be qualified as a cardiovascular defect since it affects the artery?).  She's seeing a physical therapist, a speech therapist, a cardiologist, an endocrinologist, a nutritionist.  She was also diagnosed as failure to thrive.  She stayed in the hospital for a week the last week of September.  She went to the doctor and it showed that she had lost a pound in weight over the course of 2 months.  They did some blood labs and saw that her calcium levels were extremely high so they admitted her to the hospital.  That's when she got the diagnosis. 

She is doing spectacularly now! She's making growth gains, and developmental gains, she's showing good cognitive development too.  She's overall a very happy baby.

I'm sorry to hear that she's having to deal with all that :(  Glad she's doing better now.  Hopefully all her symptoms stay as mild as possible.  She's a very pretty baby.

So much better?  Its sooo blurry!  I was kinda sad.  But omg the lecture was amazing (and a bit depressing), and he is so funny!  Great night.  We hadn't had a date night in awhile with moving to the new house and being so busy, so it was really fun.  We even got upgraded for free to a super fancy suite at the W because my husband cut his foot on the tile right when we checked in, lol.
