Witnessed Paganini 1st Violin concerto and Saint-Saens Symphony no. 3 last Thursday.
The guest conductor was Kazuki Yamada.
Normally when these programs are arranged, as in most line ups I guess, the first act supports the second, so to speak. In truth, I went only to see Saint-Saens Symphony no. 3, but due to a mix up in the seats, or a mistake by me on telephone from a 1000 miles away when booking, I ended up with a seat in the 2nd row, 3 seats to the left of centre.
Ning Feng was the guest violinist for Paganini's 1st and I was absolutely and utterly blown away.
