Nothing odd about Gnu.  He is a genuine and lovely fellow.
We had many conversations and he was charitable with his time and knowledge.

Abrasiveness (to say the least) was corrosive to him and he no longer wanted to be apart of this community.

I miss his quality contributions and his witty mind.  I have not spoken with him in a while and my attempts to contact him have been in vain.

I hope he is back doing the things he loved.  Cricket, golf and brightening the people who know him.    ||beerchug||

I am going to say goodbye to the forum. It's been ridiculous here for a while but I stuck around because of friends. Well most my friends here have left anyway so I guess my only loyalty was to Moobs for bothering to keep it all going. But this is the last straw. Making a joke thread about a member who had heart problems the last we all heard. It's not funny.

Is there is a need for a new rule here; one to guide guests through the swamp of tedious serial posting. This is not something new for our valued members. They can simply hit the ignore button or possibly report offending posts for harassment or spam. But what of our guests, some of whom might be potential valued members; they have little recourse other than tuning us out.

If assaults are routinely allowed to doggedly follow others, then what manner of guests will want to join us? The answer is, that we will get more of the same; more progenitors of boredom. Could this be, in fact, what is actually happening?

And this is not about voting someone 'off the island'. This is about gentle coercion, reform and rehabilitation whenever possible.

Myself and Gnu didn't get along too well. He seemed fond of me and perhaps saw me as his Grandson, we could have possibly gotten on well.

I was mean to him sometimes, I'd like to make peace with him if he returns.

I think that Gnu really did not like me. I teased him a little bit and he took it very personally. It was impossible for us to have a polite conversation.

Oh well, I guess you can't please everyone. I hope he is well.

gnu left because he was abused by the moderators and administrators, in public and in private.

the rules were consistently ignored when he happened to be the person wronged.

you can go through his last posts if you are curious.

Well maybe that's how he saw it. Not what it looked like to me.

Memory is tricky thing, but there is a paper trail to check, as Kevin suggests: Gnu, Kevin and the Mods were involved in a brouhaha involving of all things --- drum roll --- Karma: [applauds] & [smites]. So/and both men volunteered to become Mods; Gnu even offering to donate money. Both men seemed to leave in a snit (IMHO); Kevin eventually (thankfully) returned; Gnu remains a holdout. Don't you miss Gnu, Kevin and Assy piling on some unsuspecting newbie; ah those were the days my friend. And where's Captain Luke; pulling the handle is he?

l believe there's always a little bit of subjectivity in everything human... but Gnu was mostly wrong and IGI staff was mostly right. Basically, Gnu was on a quest for power (becoming part of the staff) and he took his rejection personal. Not to deny there was a lot of truth in his whining, but he didn't have the right to make any demands. Like, "l wanna buy this house", "Not for sale", "You're doing things wrong, this isn't a democracy, l will pay to own at least one room!", "Not interested", " You are abusing me, l'm leaving! Oh, my heart! Argh!"

So here we are, paying tribute to his memory, because he was one of us, like us all, part of us... who left... and may or may not be dead... but, just in case, you can say something nice about him.

Agusto..... Teaspoon posted this in IGI chat:

"Gnu is fine, he was over the abrasive posts and did not feel as supported as he expected. I also agree with him. Genuinely awesome fellow. I wish he would return or at least respond to my calls and messages."

So thankfully it looks like Gnu is ok

I really couldn't say.

But assuming that Teaspoons information is accurate, it seems he was in fine fettle on January 10th this year.
