There's definitely a small core group who deserves ignoring, not for their beliefs, but for their behavior.
I have had her on ignore occasionally, and when she stops breaking rules I will put her back on ignore permanently along with EB, DavidM and a few others whose contributions are not worth reading.

That's how it often is with these disorders. As long as you walk on eggshells and agree with everything, it's cool. When you deviate from this behavior to express your true feelings, the claws come out.
For the record, a simple bad attitude can make somebody as frustrating to deal with as a possibly "medical condition". The causes of a "bad attitude" can include environmental factors.

Sweetling posted: There was a guy on WWGHA, DaveDave, who was very clever and funny but quite biting and mean-spirited, and one could make a case for ignoring him OMG that brings back memories. WWGHA was the first forum I ever participated in and DaveDave instantly insulted my very first post ever. Upon which about 45,000 WWGHA members pounced upon DaveDave. He eventually ended up having his own special thread of all things concerning DaveDave.

What's with this recent trend of starting threads aimed at Maggie where everybody has discussions about her without her actually responding? It seems to me that she's not really interested in addressing her call-out threads, so why not just PM her?

Maggie's calling names and making veiled references to knifing me. Why is it that religion doesn't seem to have any noticeable positive effect on people's dispositions? If one man claims to have seen John Q Skunkbutt stab and kill Ms Sourling with a big knife, is that as persuasive as 10 people describing in some detail that they saw Ms Sourling stabbed by another woman with a switchblade? Which testimony is likely to get you off the hook in court? Please leave your aggression in the therapist's office, or talk to your priest about your hostility issues. You're getting close to abuse here.

In general, I'd have to say it's because they get caught up in forms and rules and authority questions and neglect the basic message.

This whole mess was provoked by one person and one person only. Her insatiable ego and her inability to read and understand has now made us all captive to a completely unnecessary forum drama. There is no legitimate way a rational, emotionally well-grounded person could read a silly "courtroom scenario" by an anonymous poster as a threat, particularly as she is equally anonymous. Either the woman is deliberately making trouble or she is too emotionally fragile to be posting on an Internet forum. Airyaman and Skunkbutt ought to be ashamed to be part of this by encouraging a woman who, by her own admission, has emotional problems, to believe that she has been, somehow, threatened.
Well, I have had enough. It is always the drama queens who get their way when they are not reined in by cooler heads. Who on earth wants to deal with such a person? I sure as hell don't. If I want to endure tantrums, pouting, demands that someone be allowed to have her way without any argument, and to say any damned stupid thing she wants without contradiction, I will go downstairs and visit the child care center. I prefer to argue with adults who can make good arguments and can defend their positions with facts, humor, and logic. It doesn't happen here, except with the few theists who can be bothered to post. I am not willing to see them drawn into even a quasi-defending of me. I don't need to be defended and they don't need the drama, no matter how much some of you do. Congratulations. I am out of here.

Mags doesn't respond to any of my PMs. Plus she feels the need to refer (in an admittedly veiled way) to the supposed character flaws of individual posters on a regular basis. I think, while I may not agree with the manner in which it was done, that this thread directly addressing her is much less obnoxious and rude than Mag's own tactics. Although I'd like to point out that the thread I started for Mags (quite awhile ago) was intended to give her a place to disparage my character to me directly, in peace and without disrupting other threads. She chose to ignore it, even though I made a serious attempt to be non-confrontational in my invitations.

Serious about what? In any case, people just need to look at her karma stats. When your negative outweighs your positive, there might be something you are doing wrong. With some people, its just acting stupid. We don't have many on here like that. For others, its the nasty way they treat people. I'll let you all figure out the rest.
