Is it acceptable to turn up for a basketball match, smash the place up because you're not allowed to kick the ball, leave ... and then come back and complain that the staff have repaired the damage you caused?

I can't help but point out that you also completely ignored that you are assigning subjective emotional appeals to labels, which are meaningless.

How can anyone dispute my precise and accurate description of your posts as "bollocks", if they can't read them?
Conversely, how can I hold your posts up to for the ridicule they deserve if they are unavailable for mockery?

the point of prayer isn't to run a controlled scientific experiment to test a hypothesis and generate a statistical probability on whether a prayer will be granted word for word. The point of prayer is to communicate with a deity. As most people over the age of 4-5 are aware, communication is not the same as making demands and having them served.

And there it is - the ultimate out for "God doesn't answer prayers" --> "God answers prayers when what you want was part of The Plan already, and if he doesn't answer you you should be glad, because His will is being done, and any Good Christian should want that, even if it's his will that you get completely shafted."

You can't talk about something's existence without talking about its attributes. Otherwise, you are not talking about god since there is no way to differentiate between god and a turnip without listing attributes.

The answer lies deep within your heart of hearts. The hard part is our hearts are crusted over with the scabs of all kinds of life experiences we haven't been able to process without being wounded, many of which happened during childhood when we were most vulnerable and least able to understand what was happening to us. But when we're brave enough to reach past the hurts to the Truth we've always known, we get glimpses. What works best for me is sitting in silence with other worshippers who are seeking the same light, but I don't know if there's an unprogrammed Friends meeting anywhere near where you live..

Ah. So in order to hear God, I should listen to my own heart.
I do that. I just don't call it talking to God, because I don't think it is.

I know you are sharper than to think that Jesus wouldn't consider that someone might pray for evil. Think about it for two seconds. Even if you think the man was delusional, he was clever.
You don't need to say "anyone who asks receives, except if he's asking for evil" if the ultimate goal in Jesus' mind is for them to ask for the Spirit.

The master sailor is someone who understands that just as strong winds cannot last forever, neither can the total absence of winds. Therefore, he is relaxed in the knowledge that sooner or later, things will change again. He moves about the boat, making sure he has done everything possible in preparation. When the wind picks up again - as invariably it must - it will find him ready to continue his journey. ~ Derek admin of the taoism.net forum which I also happen to enjoy.

Though I believe all religion to be hogwash, I dont want to force my children to be "weird" in that regards while growing up. It just isnt accepted down here not to be christian. Its like something is wrong with you if you're not.
I'll let them learn about the christian faith growing up, and when they reach the age of reason, they can decide for themselves what is real or not.
Its pretty obvious to me what reality is, but religion, as much as i hate to admit it...is alot like politics. People have all different kinds of opinions - some rightfully so - some just sheep...but you have to accept them anyway. Religion and politics should be deeply personal anyway, so just like i wouldnt try to "poison" them against one side of politics, i wont do that for religion either. I'll let them think for themselves.
